Toyota is recalling its models of Tacoma pickup truck manufactured and sold between 2005-2011 because of issues related to its rear suspension part.

The recall includes 690,000 Tacoma mid-size pickup trucks.

In the vehicle, the rear suspension part could break and puncture the gas tank, leading to corrosion, which could break the leaf spring suspension that might move out of its position and contact surrounding components.

Leaf springs are made of individual pieces of metal placed together, and if one of the metal plates crack, it could cause serious damage to the car.

Toyota has notified National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and the company claims that it has not received any reports of serious injuries related to the issue so far.
